My current work with The Nature Conservancy aims to create a healthy, accessible, and resilient New York Harbor for all New Yorkers. This includes restoring oysters to NY/NJ Harbor for the ecosystem benefits they provide, understanding the extent of water quality impairments, and using nature to adapt to climate change.
As a postdoc at Rutgers University, I studied the effects of the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill on the structure and dynamics of food webs in coastal environments.
My dissertation research at Stony Brook University was on ecological tipping points between plant communities in freshwater lakes and ponds cause by nutrient pollution.
I have also published on invertebrate life history and invasive species.
